The Southeast Alabama Gas District (SEAGD) is a public corporation created on January 29, 1952, under Act Number 762, General Laws of Alabama. It was established to provide natural gas service to domestic, commercial and industrial customers located in 32 communities in the southeast portion of the state. A transmission system 731 miles in length and a distribution system consisting of 1391 miles make up SEAGD, which reaches 16 counties in the southeast quadrant of the state.
We envision Southeast Alabama as an area where industrial growth is abundant. Therefore, our 14 member towns of Abbeville, Andalusia, Brundidge, Dothan, Elba, Enterprise, Eufaula, Fort Deposit, Greenville, Headland, Luverne, Opp, Ozark and Troy are positioned to offer industries natural gas solutions to their alternative energy concerns. In addition to member cities, SEAGD serves the towns of Ashford, Brantley, Coosada, Cottonwood, Daleville, Gantt, Glenwood, Midland City, Napier Field, New Brockton, Newton, Newville, Opelika, Pike Road, Pinkard, Red Level, River Falls and Rutledge.
As these cities and their surrounding communities continue to experience growth, we continue to renew our commitment by providing them with assistance in bringing industry to their cities and providing them with a quality product.
